2nd Sunday on King Street Begins 6th Year
September 30, 2015CHARLESTON, SC – October 11, 2nd Sunday on King Street begins its sixth year as the most attended, regularly-scheduled event ever held on the Charleston Peninsula, with guests numbering in the thousands every month, year-round.
This month in addition to alfresco dining, shopping opportunities and free parking courtesy of the City of Charleston, 2nd Sunday will launch the Charleston Animal Society’s newly released Firefighter Calendar. Firefighters will be present.
Petal It Forward is a project by the National Society of Florists whose New York City event on the same day features pop-up bouquets given away at various secret locations on the street. Tiger Lily florist will provide the flowers for Charleston’s version of Petal It Forward.
College of Charleston Athletics will be at George Street with information on all their games and programs as well as ticket sales and Clyde the Cougar.
The Charleston Symphony Orchestra will be at Beaufain Street with information, tickets and their Brass Quintet, who will perform from 1-3:30.
The Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Synagogue will hold Lowcountry Nosh: Charleston Jewish Food & Heritage Festival. The event is planned in conjunction with KKBE’s 175th Anniversary and is a successor to the synagogue’s annual bazaar. It will be held on Hasell Street, which will be closed to vehicular traffic during 2nd Sunday.
