The all new SOHO opens October 1: Well-known local restaurant brings urban dining concept to the grand strand

September 29, 2015

Myrtle Beach, SC – Beginning October 1, Myrtle Beach residents will enjoy a whole level of dining, literally.  SOHO, the flagship of Myrtle Beach Dining Group will unveil the area’s first rooftop bar and restaurant appropriately named, Rooftop21.

The new SOHO, with its chic exterior and urban atmosphere, is located in the heart of Myrtle Beach at 407 21st Avenue North. Situated directly across the street from its current location, it will consist of three levels. The SOHO that patrons have come to know and love will be located on the first floor serving steaks, seafood and sushi along with a wide variety of beer, handcrafted cocktails and an extensive wine list.  The real excitement however begins when patrons step onto the magnificent rooftop, complete with bar, lounges, and a living green wall (vertical garden)–the hottest trend in design today.

“Rooftop21 is a whole new restaurant in itself,” said owner and veteran restaurateur,” Sam Lauren.  “With its own bar and kitchen, we will offer cuisine that includes free-range chicken, wild caught seafood, and grass-fed beef along with organic wines and beer.  Select gluten free entrees and beer will also be available,” he said. Accessible by stairs or elevator, Rooftop21 is handicap friendly and available for private parties and special events.

Lauren, who has more than 30 years of restaurant experience and has been serving the Grand Strand for 17 years, modeled Rooftop21after open-air lounges found in some of the nations leading cities.  “It’s definitely a new concept in dining along the Grand Strand,” he said.  “With magnificent sunset views and great food, we are looking forward to welcoming our first guests.”

SOHO and Rooftop 21 will be open year-round serving food from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.  seven days a week with Happy Hour from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. daily. Live entertainment and special events will keep the excitement level high. In addition to Rooftop21, a private dining area on SOHO’s first floor will be available for smaller parties of 15-18 people.

Always on the cutting edge of the restaurant scene, Sam Lauren is ready to unveil his newest eatery. The current SOHO will close shortly after the new one opens and will be replaced by a brick oven pizzeria/Italian restaurant. If it is anything like Lauren’s other dining concepts, it too will be magnificent!
