SC Bar Foundation seeks young lawyers for Ambassador program

September 28, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC — The South Carolina Bar Foundation is seeking young attorneys interested in a leadership position to become Bar Foundation Ambassadors.

The Foundation launched the Ambassador program in January 2015. As part of its planned growth, the Bar Foundation will add up to 12 new members for a two-year term beginning January 2016.

The Ambassador program allows young lawyers to further the goal of access to justice by working with the Bar Foundation and its grantees. Ambassadors will promote the Bar Foundation’s mission and programs, and help raise additional resources to support legal services programs and other grantees. Ambassadors will also assist the Bar Foundation with events, fundraising and other functions.

Ambassadors should possess a diversity of expertise, skills and experience; demonstrate a commitment to access to justice issues, particularly supporting the public interest and legal services community in South Carolina; and have an interest in and ability to raise awareness about legal services programs and law-related education initiatives.

Qualifications for the program, as well as the application form, can be found at http://www.scbarfoundation.org/Ambassador.asp. Interested applicants should send a résumé, letter of interest and up to two letters of support, along with a completed application form to [email protected]. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015.

The South Carolina Bar Foundation funds the advancement of justice by improving access, education and accountability.  Since 1987, the Foundation has allocated approximately $49.7 million to various legal related organizations that work on behalf of the justice community.
