Affiliate William Means Celebrates Christie’s Major Art Sale
May 21, 2015CHARLESTON, SC – Earlier this month, Christie’s reached a major milestone for the art world, becoming the first auction house to sell more than $1 billion of art in just three days.
This marked the first time Christie’s New York had combined its traditionally separated categories of Impressionist & Modern and Post-War & Contemporary art into a single sale week of auctions and online-only sales. The combined sales total was $1,726,019,375.
As an art auction house, Christie’s has garnered a reputation for extraordinary art, unparalleled service and expertise, as well as international glamour. Those same qualities are reflected in Christie’s International Real Estate, an invitation-only affiliate network composed of the world’s most proven and qualified real estate specialists in the luxury residential sector. In 1997, William Means Real Estate became an exclusive Christie’s affiliate. Broker-in-charge Helen Geer has been a member of the Christie’s Advisory Board since 2006.
“This record art sale speaks to the incredible quality and service Christie’s provides its customers – whether art buyers or homebuyers,” Geer said. “We are continually honored to be part of the Christie’s brand, allowing us to bring the same high level of quality and service to luxury homebuyers in the Charleston market.”
