Leukogene Therapeutics to Receive Funding to Improve Oncology Drug

CHARLESTON, SC – SCRA Technology Ventures today announced that Leukogene Therapeutics, Inc. (LTI) will receive a Phase I SBIR Match from its SC Launch program. LTI, a Charleston-based company, was newly accepted into the SC Launch program this month.

LTI is an oncology drug discovery and development company focused on the next generation of treatments for patients with incurable blood cancers like Multiple Myeloma. LTI was founded by Dr. Nathan Dolloff, who was recently recruited by the Medical University of South Carolina’s Department of Cell and Molecular Pharmacology. The company is working to optimize the chemical structure of its lead-stage compound that has exhibited promising preclinical activity against Multiple Myeloma and Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphomas.

“LTI is working to discover and develop therapeutics for cancers that, to-date, have been incurable,” said SCRA CEO Bill Mahoney. “We are delighted to support the efforts of this South Carolina company as it brings hope and progress to the fight against cancer.”
