CHARLESTON, SC – It’s a great time of year to sign up to participate in the Charleston Green Business Challenge. Save money, energy and water. Reduce your waste. Buy local. Create healthy workplaces. Go at your own pace, and make incremental changes for a more sustainable, localized business. The GBC is a free program for workplaces in the Charleston metro area.
Join these businesses in taking the Challenge.
In its prior 3 years, participants have reported savings of over $120,000. Energy savings equates to enough power to power over 700 homes. The water savings reported would support water for almost 100 homes. So much waste has been reduced that it could fill over 100 trash trucks. And the increase in recycling has diverted over 150 trash trucks from the landfill. And not all participants report their savings.
