JEDA Finances Fly Ash Recycling Plant for The SEFA Group, Inc.

GEORGETOWN, SC – The South Carolina Jobs-Economic Development Authority (JEDA) has issued 40 million dollars in tax-exempt revenue bonds to help The SEFA Group create a coal fly ash recycling facility in Georgetown.
The Series 2014 bonds will be used to buy and equip a recycle facility on Steam Plant Drive. The SEFA Group, Inc., a Lexington, South Carolina based company, will use its proprietary processes to recycle high carbon fly ash and stored ponded ash from the Santee Cooper Winyah Electric Generating Station to be beneficially utilized as a replacement for Portland cement. Coal fly ash byproducts from other Santee Cooper electric generating stations may also be recycled when the facility reaches its capacity of 400,000 tons per year.
