Founded in 1905, the Gibbes Museum of Art exists preserve and promote the art of Charleston and the American South.
Since becoming Executive Director and Chief Curator in 2009, Angela Mack has helped lead the museum on a new vision that harkens back to what the museum was meant to be when it was initially built – an academy-style intstitution wher young people can learn about the craft of creating art.
