CofC MBA Class of 2013 is Most Diverse, Highly Qualified to Date

CHARLESTON, SC – August 13, 2012 – The College of Charleston’s incoming MBA class is the most qualified and diverse to date. The application process was also the most competitive yet.

Of the 90 applicants, only 32 enrolled in the boot camp that began in the School of Business on July 9, 2012.Of the 30 students in the Class of 2013, nine are coming from abroad for the program,including six from China, two from Vietnam and one from Germany. The majority of the students have a business background, with the rest coming from psychology, German, history, engineering, political science, advertising and fashion merchandising. They had an average GMAT score of nearly 600.This highly qualified class is currently in the  required six-week summer boot camp which provides immersion into functional business areas such as accounting, finance and communication.  

On August 20, 2012, the students
will begin the six and 12-week modules that make up the School of Business global MBA program. As one of the last components, students will take a required two to three week study abroad experience to Asia, Europe or Latin
America. In 2011, students went to China, in 2012, students traveled to Vietnam. The program concludes with an integrated capstone course.

The School of Business will begin accepting applications for the MBA Class of 2014 in October 2012 at mba.cofc.edu.
