Charleston Artist Selected to Headline Huntsville Museum of Art Fund Raising Gala

CHARLESTON,SC – July 25, 2012 – The Huntsville Museum of Art (HMA) announced its featured artistfor the 2013 Gala and Art Auction is popular Charleston impressionistKevin LePrince, co-owner of Reinert LePrince Fine Art gallery at 179King Street.
 
According to HMA Communications Manager Stephanie Kelley, the annualGala and Art Auction is the largest single fund raising event for themuseum. Last year the event raised more than $200,000 and we hope toincrease that amount this year, said Kelley.
 
LePrince is humbled by his selection. This is a tremendous honor tohave my work displayed and featured at such a distinguished museum,said LePrince. According to LePrince he will create 25 pieces for theevent staying mostly in his wildlife motif. At the same time, I want totake what I’m doing and step it up a notch.
 
LePrince’s all prima style, bold brush strokes and vibrant palette makehis work recognizable to his many collectors. Today his equine worksadorn the walls of the Ocean Room inside Kiawah’s Five Star SanctuaryHotel and his dramatic landscapes hang in the grand entrance at HiltonHead’s Wexford Plantation House.
 
LePrince is a 1992 graduate of the University of South Carolina with adegree in economics. However, in 2004 he left his position as a vicepresident of a major securities brokerage firm to pursue a new career asa professional artist.
 
It didn’t take long for LePrince to be noticed, earning membership intothe Oil Painters of America. His art is represented in fine artgalleries in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina andColorado and in the King Street Reinert LePrince Fine Art Galleryco-owned with Rick Reinert. His story and works have been the subject ofmany articles in local, regional and national publications includingCharleston Style and Design and American Art Collector.
