Palmer will be honored today at a faculty and staff reception and he will take review with Citadel President Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa during the 3:45 p.m. military dress parade.

“I congratulate Justin Palmer on being selected as this year’s Employee of the Year,” Rosa said. “Justin’s co-workers praise him for his exemplary leadership and unparalleled work ethic and we are proud to have him as a member of The Citadel family.”

Palmer will receive a $1,500 cash award, a gift package from Auxiliary Services, free campus parking for one year, 2012 season tickets to Citadel football games and tickets to the Biltmore House in Asheville, N.C.

Since arriving at The Citadel in 2005, Palmer has risen to the position of technical support manager. His duties include managing the ITS Help Center and student technology support in the barracks.

“My team and I represent the face of ITS,” said Palmer. “Providing technological support can be extremely difficult, but I work with a great group of adept people who make my job rewarding. We are the frontlines of support when someone needs help with technology.”
