MOUNT PLEASANT, SC – December 10, 2011 – With Buy Local Month in full swing, local business owners Square Onion Too, Wabi Sabi Home, Little Yo Yogurt and Earthly Artifacts are offering shoppers another opportunity to shop locally with Holiday Buy Local Open House at “The Shops on Hibben” in Mount Pleasant. This new event will be held Saturday, December 10 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the corner of Coleman Boulevard and Hibben Street. It’s the perfect opportunity to shop and sip in a relaxed environment and support local artists. The “Shops at Hibben” will provide a variety of products such as jewelry, unique clothing, candles, nail polish, original fragrances and more. They will also have local artists on site, light snacks, hot chocolate, champagne and children’s craft area.
This event runs in conjunction with Lowcountry Local First, Buy Local Month. From November 15- December 15, local businesses celebrate the impact they have on our community and the economic impact that comes with others shopping locally. “The Shops on Hibben wanted to do an event together to support not only Buy Local Month, but also to help with our shoppers with their Christmas and Hanukkah lists by offering one of a kind art, pottery, jewelry and more. This event is a fun way to get families out for a relaxed day of holiday shopping that benefits the community around them.” said Mary Zapatka, owner of the Square Onion Too.
