Waring to Serve on National Legal Advisory Committee

CHARLESTON, SC – April 25, 2011 –  Nexsen Pruet member (partner) Brad Waring has accepted an invitation to join the prestigious National Center for State Courts’ Lawyers Committee.

“I am honored to answer this call to serve,” said Waring, who is managing member of the firm’s Charleston office. “This group is comprised of attorneys from many of the country’s most prominent law firms. I look forward to helping increase the visibility of key legal issues, such as jury reform and judicial independence.”

An accomplished litigator, Waring serves as one of two deputies for Nexsen Pruet’s business litigation practice group and as co-chair of the firm’s insurance litigation committee.

Waring has built a career that spans more than three decades and includes a range of experience primarily in civil litigation in state and federal courts, with an emphasis on complex commercial litigation.  He has a long-standing commitment to the legal profession and currently serves as a State Bar Delegate to the American Bar Association and as Honorary Consul, North and South Carolina, for the Kingdom of Denmark.  He is also a past president of the South Carolina Bar.    

Waring has earned a range of appointments throughout his career, including two by South Carolina Chief Justice Toal – one to the South Carolina Judicial Council and another to the Chief Justice’s Commission on the Profession

Since 2005, he has consecutively been named in the Best Lawyers in America listing for Business Litigation.  He has earned the Gold Compleat Lawyer Award from the University of South Carolina School of Law as well as the 2010 Leadership in Law Award from South Carolina Lawyers Weekly

He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and his law degree from the USC School of Law.
