Susan E. Crocker appointed to MUSC Board of Visitors

CHARLESTON, SC – March 3, 2011 – Susan E. Crocker has been appointed to the Medical University of South Carolina Board of Visitors. Members are nominated by the trustees of the university and serve as ambassadors in their respective regions. Crocker was appointed by Thomas L. Stephenson, Esquire.
Crocker is president of Susan E. Crocker, Inc., a human resources and benefits consulting company headquartered in Greenville, SC. It was founded in 1998 to help small and large employers meet their human resource, management and benefit needs.
Susan E. Crocker, Inc. helps companies decide where outsourcing most efficiently meets their needs. Some of the customized services offered include benefits (life and health), total compensation analysis, performance appraisals, employee handbook, policy and procedure preparation, compliance, recruitment, selection and any other aspects of the human resources functions.
Prior to SEC, Inc., Crocker served as vice president of Human Resources and associate services for BMW Manufacturing Corporation (1993-1998).
Crocker established, and was responsible for the functions of recruitment, training, associate services, safety, health, security, compensation, benefits, environmental engineering, and associate relations. The BMW plant start-up was the fastest in automotive history, going from “green field” to production in just 18 months.
Before joining BMW, Crocker spent 15 years with Sara Lee Corporation where she gained extensive experience in human resources management, training, policy development, and communications. Prior to becoming a plant manager for Sara Lee, she was an area human resource manager for the facilities in Morganton, NC.
Crocker holds a B.S. and Masters degrees from North Carolina State University, with honors and was the North Carolina Woman of the Year in 1987, NCSU Outstanding Alumnus in 1987 and nominee for South Carolina Outstanding Human Resource Professional in 1998.
Crocker and her husband, Mark, a CPA, have a daughter, Hailey (26).
