Alt.Net Charleston – No SQL Databases

October 13, 2010

No Sql databases are becoming increasingly more prevalent. Companies like Google, Facebook and Amazon are using them to store massive amounts of data that scale incredibly well.

Join us for this month’s meeting of Alt.Net Charleston on Thursday, October 28th as Tom Demille from BoomTown gives us a tour of MongoDB and fills us in on when and why to go the No Sql route. Then, Christopher Zorn from Collecta will compare and contrast a few other popular No Sql options such as Riak and CouchDB.  Finally, Andrew Psaltis from Webtrends will explore Cassandra.

Did we mention that there will be refreshments and prizes?

Alt.Net Charleston connects area .Net Developers interested in integrating platform‐agnostic, best‐of‐breed technologies and techniques into their .Net‐based products. Alt.Net Charleston hosts meetings on the last Thursday of every month from 6:30-8pm at the Flagship, 475-A East Bay Street.
