City of Charleston Enhances Citizen Service

June 13, 2010

CHARLESTON, SC – June 13, 2010 –  Beginning June 1, 2010, citizens and guests of the City of Charleston have a new online resource available for asking questions or requesting services. The “Citizen Support Center” (CSC) is an online system for the submission and management of questions and service requests.

This system is replacing the former “Citizen Help Desk” and adds many new features that will be beneficial to citizens, guests and City employees alike. The Citizen Support Center will allow the City of Charleston to increase access to information while improving communication and meeting service needs for the residents of Charleston.

The Citizen Support Center will provide users with the following services:

Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. said, “The City of Charleston is pleased to offer The Citizen Support Center as an upgraded means to provide residents an additional way to get information and communicate their city service needs. The program affords citizens an easy way to enter and track their requests while providing the city with information which can be used to analyze effective programs and services.”
