West Ashley Greenway Masterplan To Be Presented

CHARLESTON, SC – April 29, 2010 – The City of Charleston will present the “West Ashley Greenway Masterplan 2009” to interested community members on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.  This presentation will take place in the cafeteria of the St. Andrews School of Math & Science, located at the corner of Windermere Boulevard and Chadwick Drive.  The public is encouraged to attend.

This plan is the culmination of efforts by the City of Charleston, adjacent neighborhood organizations, and other interested organizations and individuals.  Plans were developed following extensive public input and on-site analysis, with the goal of improving the existing Greenway, enhancing scenic and recreation opportunities, and creating linkages between other trails and facilities.  This plan will serve as the framework for improvements to the Greenway over the next decade. Urban Edge Studio, a local design studio affiliated with Seamon Whiteside and Associates, facilitated the process and developed the plan, which was funded by a donation from Kimco Development.
