Malcolm M. Crosland, Jr. appointed to MUSC Board of Visitors

CHARLESTON, SC – March 17, 2010 – Malcolm M. Crosland, Jr., an attorney with the Steinberg Law Firm, has been appointed to the Medical University of South Carolina Board of Visitors. Members are nominated by the trustees of the university and serve as ambassadors in their respective regions. Crosland was appointed by Dr. Donald Johnson.
Crosland, who graduated in 1987 from the University of South Carolina School of Law, immediately began working in the Steinberg Law Firm’s downtown Charleston office where he embraced the philosophy of giving a voice to working men and women.
Crosland is actively involved in numerous professional and community organizations, including state and national. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, the Charleston County Bar Association and the American Association for Justice. He was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Brain Injury Alliance of South Carolina and is past chairman of the 9th Judicial Circuit Medical-Legal Liaison Committee and president of the Association of S.C. Attorneys for Workers’ Compensation Claimants. Crosland has been named Best Lawyers in America for 2009 and 2010.
Crosland and his wife, the former Meggett B. Lavin, reside in Mount Pleasant. The couple has one son, Elliott (13).
