Silver Crescent Manufacturer of the Year Nominations Sought
March 16, 2010COLUMBIA, SC – March 16, 2010 – The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the Silver Crescent Foundation are seeking nominations for the 2010 Silver Crescent Manufacturer of the Year awards. Manufacturers may access information on the award criteria and nomination process on the South Carolina Chamber’s Web site www.scchamber.net. The deadline for entries is Friday, June 11, 2010, at 5:00 pm.
The Salute to Manufacturing is South Carolina’s premier manufacturing recognition event in which the state’s top small, medium and large manufacturing companies will be recognized for their manufacturing excellence, economic impact, commitment to workforce development and community stewardship. Companies will be honored during an awards luncheon Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Columbia.
In addition to the awards luncheon, this year’s Salute will include an educational forum highlighting manufacturing’s support of education and future workforce development in South Carolina. Participants will learn about best practices and available resources to encourage interest and support in building manufacturing’s future workforce.
This is the second year the Chamber and the Foundation have teamed up to co-host this annual celebration of manufacturing excellence in South Carolina.
The application and selection process is simple and straightforward. Selection is based upon:
• Quality Improvement Efforts
• Quality of Life Programs
• Improvements in the Environment
• Involvement in Local Community & Economic Development
• Education and Workforce Development
• Overall Effectiveness
The two organizations encourage the business community to nominate outstanding candidates.
