Carolina Business Equipment honored as one of the top Sharp dealers in the country

CHARLESTON, SC – December 30, 2009 – Carolina Business Equipment, the exclusive dealer for Sharp office equipment in the Midlands and Lowcountry, has been named an Elite Dealer of 2009 by OfficeDealer magazine – one of only 17 dealers to be so honored out of 550 Sharp dealers nationwide.
In its fall edition, OfficeDealer praised CBE for its constant communication with customers to serve them better by helping their businesses run more efficiently, and for its high ethical standards. The magazine said the reason customers like doing business with CBE is that It’s predictable. If the dealership says it will do something, it will do it.
CBE was nominated for the honor by Sharp Electronics Corporation, whose copiers, printers, fax machines and other equipment CBE has sold since 1975.
Managing editor Scott Cullen said the magazine’s selections were based on the nominations and on editors’ knowledge of the market. Winners are not based on sales figures alone, although many of our Elite dealers are some of their manufacturer’s best sellers, he said. The magazine looks for innovation, for employers who create good working environments for employees, and for companies that give back to their communities. It’s not any one trait, but a combination of traits that make an Elite dealer, said Mr. Cullen.
OfficeDealer has a circulation of 13,000 and is read by independent dealers who sell equipment, furniture and supplies.
Any time you are recognized by your peers it is an honor, said John Eckstrom, president of Carolina Business Equipment. When you are recognized by the manufacturer and that honor comes in the form of the ‘Dealer Elite’ award you join a club that only about 5 percent of the dealerships in the country will ever hit.
