American Land Title Association names Cynthia Blair as president-elect

The law firm of Blair Cato Pickren Casterline, LLC announced that Cynthia Durham Blair has been installed as president-elect of the American Land Title Association (ALTA) for the 2017-2018 year. The installation took place in October at ALTA One, ALTA’s annual conference in Miami, FL.
About ALTA
The American Land Title Association, founded in 1907, is the national trade association representing nearly 5,400 title insurance companies, title and settlement agents, independent abstracters, title searchers, and real estate attorneys. With offices throughout the United States, ALTA members conduct title searches, examinations, closings, and issue title insurance that protects real property owners and mortgage lenders against losses from defects in titles. The eleven-member ALTA Board of Governors is responsible for promoting the industry, creating association policy, managing the financial health of the association, and ensuring the overall welfare of the association.
About Cynthia Blair
Cynthia Blair is very active in the real estate industry, having served as officer and director of both the Palmetto Land Title Association and the Mortgage Lenders Association of Greater Columbia. She serves on the Board of Governors and just completed a two-year term serving as chair of the Abstracters and Title Insurance Agents Section of ALTA. Additionally, she serves on numerous committees and task forces of ALTA, all for the improvement of the real estate title and settlement industry. Blair just completed a term as chair of the Real Estate Section Council of the South Carolina Bar. She is also a licensed instructor of continuing education for real estate agents in South Carolina.
