Attorney Inez Moore Tenenbaum launches solo practice

November 6, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – Attorney Inez Moore Tenenbaum, the former chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and two-term state superintendent of education, has launched her own practice in Columbia – Inez Moore Tenenbaum, LLC, Attorney at Law.

Her practice areas include consumer product safety and risk management, education policy consulting and alternative dispute resolution.

Given the range of her background and experiences, a solo practice “is the best fit for me,” Ms. Tenenbaum said. “This allows me to bring my own particular experiences in shaping and navigating state and national public policy to bear upon the challenges facing my clients.”

The new solo practice reflects her personal experience, a mix of conventional practice of the law and public policy leadership. Inez’ practice is as distinct and individualized as she is.

Her knowledge of consumer product safety and risk management is grounded in her experience as chairman of the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission from 2009 to 2013. Read about her many accomplishments in that office on her Wikipedia page.

Her education policy experience grows out of her two terms as South Carolina’s state superintendent of education, from 1999-2003. At the end of her tenure in that office, South Carolina was a leader in the nation in education improvement. Standard & Poor’s identified South Carolina as an “outperformer” on NAEP for consistently achieving above the statistical expectations, and the state’s SAT scores increased 34 points over the eight years, the largest such gain in the nation.

She is certified as a state circuit court mediator and a federal district court mediator for civil cases in South Carolina.

Her law office is located at 801 Gervais Street in downtown Columbia. She can be reached at 803.466.3392 or [email protected].
