BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina employees raise $2.8 million for United Way

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina officially announced its annual United Way campaign results totaling a record $2.8 million.
“The employees of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina are one of our most enthusiastic campaigns and have continued to deliver outstanding results,” said United Way President & CEO Sara Fawcett. “Not only are they the largest campaign in the Midlands, they are the largest campaign in the state. Their investments allow us to continue the fight to prevent homelessness, prepare children to enter kindergarten ready to learn and graduate high school on time and provide affordable eye and dental care to those without resources.”
Kim Wellman, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina’s Vice President, Communications Strategies executed this year’s United Way of the Midlands campaign for the company.
“Our employees understand the importance of United Way’s impact in our community, and many have been directly helped from United Way’s services in the Midlands,” said Wellman. “In addition to the personal contributions our employees made, this year we had a record auction that raised over $140,000 and more than 150 smaller fundraisers bringing in over $100,000. Our employees should be incredibly proud of this accomplishment.”
