Bridgestone APM Company conducts grand opening ceremonies for New Wheatfield, NY facility
September 14, 2016Site Selection firm facilitated successful year-long, multi-state search for major automotive supplier
Strategic Development Group (SDG), one of the nation’s leading corporate site selection and economic development consultants, joined Bridgestone APM Company executives at their grand opening ceremony for a new facility in Wheatfield, New York (Niagara County) where the company will produce seat foam for the automotive market. The new project was announced in December 2015.
Bridgestone APM will lease a building and invest an additional $5 million in machinery and equipment. The 65,000 square-foot facility will be constructed on an 11-acre site, and is projected to create about 90 new jobs within five years.
Strategic Development Group provided site selection services and facilitated incentive negotiations with state and local government officials and utilities.
“It has been a privilege to help find a highly strategic site and to negotiate incentives on behalf of a company like Bridgestone APM – one that desires to contribute positively to a community,” said SDG President Mark Williams. “This announcement will have a long-term positive impact on both the company and the community.”
The new plant announced this week is the most recent collaboration between SDG and Bridgestone APM – a relationship that began in 2003. SDG first helped Bridgestone APM locate its fourth U.S. production facility in Dickson, Tennessee at that time, and it has been called on by Bridgestone’s leaders numerous times during the last decade. SDG assists companies across a wide variety of industries, with a focus on automotive suppliers.
“We find it extremely rewarding to develop long-term relationships with our clients, so we can effectively collaborate, act as an extension of their team, and understand how they can be most successful,” said Williams.
