CamdenART Honors Show to open in Bassett Gallery May 17

May 4, 2016

CAMDEN, SC – CamdenART, an affiliate member of the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) will open its spring Honors Show entitled “The Spirit Within” on Tuesday, May 17 in the Bassett Gallery with a reception from 5:30-7:00 p.m. The exhibition will honor the winners of the Fall Members’ Show, a juried exhibition, along with 45 pieces of artwork in many different mediums including wood, clay, canvas and cast sculptures from Camden ART members.

About the Exhibition
This year, the artists decided on presenting the “Spirit Within” exhibit to the public because the topic is open to everyone’s own interpretation of what “spirit” means, and how the subject could be represented in art.

“To express ‘spirit within,’ in an artful way, has many possibilities ranging from spirituality to one’s Native spirit,” says local artist Tari Federer. “It can also express one’s lively spirit or spirit of a community. Our exhibit will be an exciting range of each individual’s concept of spirit within.”
