Central Carolina REALTORS® under new leadership
December 1, 2017On Thursday, November 16th at the Central Carolina REALTORS® Association’s Annual Prayer Breakfast, Association president-elect Doug Bridges announced that not one, but two people will be filling the vacant CEO role. Taylor Oxendine and Kim Fuller are the new leadership team of CCRA. Effective December 1, 2017, Oxendine will become the Chief Executive Officer and Fuller will become the Chief Operating and Financial Officer.
The Search Committee presented their decision to the Board of Directors, at which time the Board unanimously approved Fuller and Oxendine. Both accepted the positions enthusiastically.
On July 3, 2017, Sharon Young resigned as CEO of the Association. Immediately, the Board of Directors appointed a Search Committee of five REALTORS®, to find a replacement. The Board contacted the National Association of REALTORS® and connected with the Strategic Association Management Division, which specializes in recruiting CEO’s (AE’s) for REALTOR® Associations around the country. The recruiting began on September 5, 2017 with NAR receiving over 30 applications. Ultimately, NAR sent to the Search Committee the names and résumés of the top five candidates for the position.
The Search Committee reviewed these applicants at a Committee meeting conducted on October 26. The Committee, headed by Bridges, did not approve any of the candidates provided by NAR. After a thorough discussion of all the candidates, the Committee shifted their attention to present staff. After deliberation, the Committee decided that the Fuller and Oxendine were the best possible candidates to manage, facilitate and conduct the business of the Association to the highest level.
Previously, Oxendine served as the Association’s Government Affairs Director and Professional Standards Administrator and Fuller served as Director of Membership and Accounting. Both will continue their previous duties in their new roles.
Under this new leadership, the mission of CCRA will continue to be the expansion of opportunities for REALTORS® to succeed and grow in their industry, to be trusted advocates for home ownership and private property rights, while providing the highest level of ethical service.
