Fourth Annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast scheduled for March 31 in Chapin

Chapin residents and members of the business community are invited to join together for an inspirational morning of prayer, reflection and fellowship at the Fourth Annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast on Friday, March 31 at 7:30 am at Town Hall.

A breakfast buffet sponsored by Generations of Chapin will be served at 7:30 am, and the program will begin at 8 am. The theme for this year’s event is Building Community and coincides with the 17th Annual Community of Character Service Day which occurs on Saturday, April 1.
Dr. Akil Ross will be the featured guest speaker and members of the Chapin faith community that are scheduled to participate include Rev. Dr. B.J. Phillips of Grace Chapel, Rev. Slaven Manning of St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, Pastor Beverly Aurand of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, and Rev. Dennis Willey of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Members of the Chapin JROTC and Chapin High School Choir will also be participating.

The following businesses and community members are helping to defray the cost of the breakfast and the Community Service Day volunteer lunch through their support: Chapin Times, Generations of Chapin, Caughman Harman Funeral Home, Chapin United Methodist Church, Rep. Chip Huggins and Rep. Nathan Ballentine, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Brown, Chapin area schools, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Lexington Medical Center, Lexington County Development Corporation, Our Lady of the Lake, Wilson Financial Group Harrell, Martin & Peace PA, Senator Ronnie Cromer, Lillian Mood, First Community Bank, and Steve Wall.
