Home Works of America receives AARP Foundation grant for hurricane relief

January 2, 2019

Home Works of America is grateful to have received a generous donation from AARP Foundation based in Washington, DC. Their donation of $90,000 will go toward Home Works’ efforts in the Pee Dee area of South Carolina, providing free home repair to low income, elderly homeowners who have been particularly affected by recent hurricane damage.

Home Works aims to begin repairs using these funds from AARP Foundation beginning in the first quarter of 2019, tapping into volunteers from throughout the state to help restore homes to safety and allowing these Pee Dee residents to continue living in their homes.

Home Works is looking for volunteers to serve homeowners in mission areas statewide, including the Pee Dee, as well as donors to join in on ministry efforts. Home Works will leverage donations to hammer hope home and serve more homeowners through compassionate construction in 2019.
