LHS wins film competition by showing kindness

A short film created by Lexington High TV crew members Hayden S. Boozer, Josh T. Carroll, William C. Crouch, Chase A. Dadabo, Greer E. Fowler, Valerie C. Heaton, Payton A. Hollis, Hannah K. Norris, Joseph G. Quan, Morgan N. Rish, Emmie T. Thompson and Coleman C. Verburg took Best in Show honors recently.
Students submitted their film, “It Doesn’t Take Much to be Kind,” to the Columbia Jewish Film Festival’s S.C. Student Short Film Competition.
The Nickelodeon Theater in Columbia showed the winning film during the Sunday Shorts program on October 21.
These aspiring filmmakers created a film using the theme Lo Ta’amod, a concept defined as not standing by while others are threatened or mistreated with rudeness, bullying, violence, racism or intolerance.
With creative leadership by Hollis and Norris, Wildcat TV moved the judges with their portrayal of the topic, winning the team a $500 cash prize.
