CAMDEN, SC – Environmental attorney and global-expedition leader Tom Mullikin is the subject of a multi-profile feature in the July edition of the national ABA Journal – a leading national magazine (and the professional periodical for the American Bar Association) – for his global exploratory and environmental awareness-and-protection efforts worldwide.
The article, ADVENTUROUS ATTORNEYS by Jenny B. Davis, looks at eight attorneys who have “pushed the limits” far beyond the office.
Mullikin, for instance, “has spent his entire professional career actively engaged with environmental issues, educating companies, students, lawyers and lawmakers on how to respect and preserve nature, and how to better understand complex issues such as global environmental management,” writes Davis.
She adds, “[Mullikin has] advised corporations on how they can reduce their environmental impact, while also becoming more profitable. He has studied water-related issues in SCUBA dives in every ocean on earth including in Antarctica—he’s a certified ice diver—and has summited the highest peaks on four continents. (Climbing the highest peaks on the three remaining continents is his next goal, and it’s one that’s both personal and professional.)”
The magazine’s cover photo is of Mullikin and his son, Thomas Mullikin Jr., ascending Mt. Aconcagua, Argentina (the highest peak in the Western and Southern Hemispheres) on the day they achieved the summit.
The ABA Journal, the flagship magazine of the American Bar Association, is read by half of the nation’s one-million lawyers every month. It covers the trends, people and finances of the legal profession from Wall Street to Main Street to Pennsylvania Avenue.
