Sam Mabry receives Jeter E. Rhodes, Jr. Trial Lawyer of the Year Award

March 1, 2017

At the South Carolina American Board of Trial Advocates’ annual meeting and black-tie dinner, Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd shareholder H. Sam Mabry III was awarded the 2016 Jeter E. Rhodes, Jr. Trial Lawyer of the Year Award. The chapter annually presents this award to a distinguished trial lawyer with the same accomplishment in the field of law as the late Mr. Rhodes.

“Sam’s passion for the legal profession is something we all strive for,” states Nick Nicholson, managing director of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd. “He is an innovative collaborator, and someone whose integrity is without reproach. We could not think of a more deserving honoree for the Jeter E. Rhodes, Jr. Award.”

Sam is widely respected for his skilled management of complex litigation work. Known throughout the Southeast for his defense work in class actions, commercial and financial services litigation, and product liability actions, he has been instrumental in a number of high-profile cases during his career. Based in the firm’s Greenville office, Sam is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Litigation Counsel of America, and is a member of South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association, the Upstate South Carolina American Inn of Court and the American Board of Trial Advocates.
