SCAEOP announces award recipients
March 21, 2019The South Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals (SCAEOP) recognized their Educational Administrator of the Year, Office Professional of the Year and Student Scholarship recipients at its recent annual conference. The conference was held in Myrtle Beach, February 28 – March 3, 2019.
Congratulations to: Mr. Deon Jackson, Senior Associate Superintendent for Operations and Administration for Berkeley County School District was named the SCAEOP Educational Administrator of the Year. Mr. Jackson has a career in public education spanning 19 years. Ms. Kim Glaze, CEOE, Administrative Assistant to Mr. Jackson was named the SCAEOP Office Professional of the Year. Mrs. Glaze has been an educational office professional for 18 years. SCAEOP also awarded three $1,000 scholarships to graduating SC seniors pursuing a higher education and awards a scholarship to a member of the organization to assist SCAEOP members pursuing a Professional Standards Program (PSP) Certificate, the Certified Educational Office Employee (CEOE) designation, or having attained the CEOE distinction, pursuing a college degree. Mrs. Tammy Wilson from Newberry County received the SCAEOP Membership Scholarship. This year’s student scholarship recipients were Siada Tisdale from Williamsburg County, Laneshia Brown from Richland County, and Avery Rice from Georgetown County. All three of these students had excellent GPAs, participated in multiple extra-curricular activities and had impressive resumes.
SCAEOP gives these awards and scholarships annually as part of their mission to heighten the awareness of the great job that administrators and support staff in the field of education do to provide support to students across the state.
