January 14, 2019

United Way of the Midlands’ Small Business Alliance (SBA) will host its inaugural Driving Down Main Topgolf Swing Suite Tournament at The Venue on Main on February 11, 2019.

“As a sponsor of United Way’s Small Business Alliance’s inaugural Driving Down Main tournament and a charter member of the Small Business Alliance, the Grace Outdoor team and I look forward to working with other local small business owners to make long-term impact in the Midlands community,” said Hal Stevenson, President and CEO of Grace Outdoor. “For us to make significant, change in support of United Way’s mission, we must collaborate and contribute our time, talent and treasure as a group.”

Registered foursomes will play a 9-hole scramble on the back nine holes of the legendary Pebble Beach Golf Links. Tee times start at 9:00 am and end at 4:30 pm with a maximum of 30 teams. Each round should take players 90-minutes or less to complete. All tournament details including exclusive sponsorship opportunities can be found by visiting uway.org/events.

The inaugural golf tournament is a way for small business owners and other community-minded professionals to network, enjoy the new Topgolf Swing Suite, learn more about the Alliance and its upcoming plans, and meet the program’s charter members.

“The Small Business Alliance is the only nonprofit program that gives our community’s small business owners an opportunity to engage and impact our community in a large way,” said Sara Fawcett, United Way of the Midlands President & CEO. “When the community at large invests in our mission to improve the quality of life for every person in the Midlands, we all win.”

Investments made to United Way of the Midlands support programs to reduce homelessness, ensure our students are reading on grade level and provides eye and dental services for adults and children who are uninsured or underinsured, giving small business the opportunity to make a big impact in the Midlands.

United Way’s Small Business Alliance, launched in October 2018, provides a tiered membership program connecting small businesses with a trusted nonprofit and benefits including professional development, volunteer opportunities and more based on membership level.
