Garvin Design Group’s Ocean Oak Resort wins 2018 Connie award
March 14, 2019Garvin Design Group’s Ocean Oak Resort in Hilton Head is a winner of Hilton Grand Vacation’s 2018 Connie Award. Per Hilton Grand Vacations, “The Connie Award is the highest hotel award for all brands across Hilton Worldwide. The winning hotels are the perfect balance of product and outstanding service scores. There are only a few Connie Awards per brand awarded annually, making it extremely competitive to win. These hotels embody Conrad Hilton’s dream of spreading the light and warmth of hospitality and living our shared values each and every day.”
Ocean Oak Resort by Hilton Grand Vacations is a 125-unit oceanfront resort offering two-bedroom units with exceptional views of the surrounding Low Country landscape. Grand live oak trees provided inspiration for the resort’s design and are honored in the interior wall decorations of the lobby. An expansive patio provides outdoor seating overlooking the palmetto-lined swimming pool and the ocean beyond. Phase Two of the resort is under construction and set to open next month. The second phase of the project also expands the resort’s amenities to include a second leisure pool and spa, along with an activity lawn and other enhanced site amenities.

Ocean Oak Resort also won Resort Architecture’s American Resort Development Association (ARDA) Award in 2017 for Design. This is the second Connie Award given to a Garvin Design Group project: the firm’s Ocean 22 Resort, also a Hilton Grand Vacations property, is a previous Connie Award winner. Garvin Design Group collaborated with Timbes Architectural Group on both award-winning projects.
