Turner Padget adds new attorneys and continues firmwide growth efforts
March 20, 2019Turner Padget Graham & Laney, P.A. announced the addition of three new attorneys. William S. “Wilson” Jackson IV joins as an associate in the firm’s Insurance Litigation practice and is based in Charleston; William G. Oncken joins as an associate in the firm’s Workplace Law practice and is based in Myrtle Beach; and W. Taylor Stanley joins as an associate in the firm’s Business Litigation and Transactions practice and is based in Columbia.

William S. “Wilson” Jackson IV
Jackson’s practice is focused on personal injury and insurance litigation matters. After graduating law school, he served as a judicial clerk for The Honorable Michael G. Nettles, Resident Judge and Chief Administrative Judge for Common Pleas for South Carolina’s Twelfth Judicial Circuit. Jackson later served as a judicial clerk for The Honorable D. Garrison Hill of the South Carolina Court of Appeals.
Jackson received his undergraduate degree from The Citadel and his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
William G. Oncken
Oncken’ s practice primarily focuses on employment law, labor law, and workers’ compensation defense. He started his career as a human resources professional with a large Fortune 500 manufacturing company. Oncken then moved on and began his legal career as an attorney at a leading civil litigation firm handling workers’ compensation claims and personal injury cases. He has also served in the military on a part-time basis since 2012.
Oncken received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
W. Taylor Stanley
Stanley focuses his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, construction litigation, business litigation, real estate litigation, and other complex litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. Prior to joining Turner Padget, Stanley worked for a small construction firm in North Carolina and a full service firm in Columbia.
Stanley received his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

June 26, 2018Turner Padget Graham & Laney, P.A. announces the addition of three attorneys. Dalhi N. Myers joins as of counsel in the firm’s Business Litigation and Transactions practice and is based in Columbia. Cheslyne Shea Brighthop and Marcus J. Brown join as associates in the firm’s Insurance Litigation practice, both based in Columbia. Their arrivals bring the total number of new attorneys to join the firm this year to ten.

Wayne Byrd, chief executive officer of Turner Padget. “With these additions – and the opening of our Augusta office – we are well on our way to achieving our goal. These arrivals further support our ability to respond promptly and strategically to our clients’ legal needs.”
Dalhi N. Myers
Myers’ practice focuses on representing businesses in all phases of corporate life, from start-up to winding down, and the developmental stages in between. She has international transactional experience, having been the most senior “in-house” attorney at MCI WorldCom Asia Pacific, where she managed the regulatory aspects of multi-million dollar transactions. Before joining Turner Padget, Myers, who started her legal career at Swidler & Berlin (now Bingham), in Washington, DC, was a shareholder at Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, PA, and Myers, LLC. Immediately following law school, she served as a judicial law clerk to The Honorable Annice M. Wagner, Chief Judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
Councilwoman Dalhi Myers, as she is known in Richland County, is in her second term as a member of the Richland County Council and represents Council District 10. Myers is extremely dedicated to public service and represents Richland County Council and her constituents as a liaison to numerous boards and commissions, among them, the Richland County Public Library Board, the Richland County Recreation Commission, the Central Midlands Council of Governments, EdVenture Children’s Museum, and Midlands Technical College.
She is also a member of the Aspen Institute’s Global Leadership Network through South Carolina’s prestigious Liberty Fellowship. Aspen Fellows, from South Carolina to China, India, Israel and South Africa, are committed to values-based, collaborative, change-oriented leadership. Myers is a member of Liberty One, South Carolina’s inaugural Liberty Fellowship Class; a graduate of the Midlands Diversity Leadership Institute; and has been honored by The State Newspaper’s “20 Under 40”.
A member of the South Carolina Bar, she is an Honor Graduate of Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C., and Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. In her free time, Dalhi enjoys scuba diving.
Cheslyne Shea Brighthop
Brigthop’s practice focuses on representing individuals with professional licenses who are facing disciplinary action and she also litigates insurance matters. Before joining Turner Padget, Brighthop started her legal career at the Richland County Public Defender’s Office. Prior to her career in public service, she served as a judicial law clerk to The Honorable William P. Keesley of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.
Brighthop is extremely dedicated in her service to the South Carolina Bar and being a server of the community. She is the co-chair of the Diversity Committee and subcommittee co-chair of the Color of Justice Committee of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division.
She earned her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of South Carolina.
Marcus “Marc” J. Brown
Brown’s practice focuses on insurance defense, including personal injury and premises liability matters. Brown joins Turner Padget from Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, where he practiced in the area of complex civil litigation.
In addition to serving his clients, Brown takes pride in serving his community. He enjoys volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Columbia, the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice, and the Homeless Experience Legal Protection Project. He also serves on the Communities in Schools of the Midlands’ Governance Committee, the Richland County Bar Association’s Public Service Committee, and the United Way of the Midlands’ Young Leaders Society Steering Committee.
Brown received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and his law degree from Emory University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in South Carolina and Georgia.
