Nonprofit conservancy invites community to events during active April at The Ponds
April 6, 2019A gigantic community yard sale, bird watching, two food truck events, and celebration of Earth Day are happening at The Ponds in April
A number of events are scheduled for April at The Ponds in Summerville. The public is invited to join in the fun. There is no admission for any of the events and everyone is welcome.
Community sale is the place for thrifters
On Saturday, April 13th, from 8 AM -12 PM throughout the neighborhood, a Community Yard Sale is taking place. Come early to nab the best items from participating residents who will have displays in their yards and driveways.
Create kindness rocks
Join residents of The Ponds at a Ponds Conservancy Earth Day event from 3-5 PM on Monday, April 22 for a Kindness Rocks event. Founded by Megan Murphy, Kindness Rocks spreads messages of love and caring on rocks left for people to find.
Food Truck Friday rolls in
Friday, April the 26th 5-8 PM, The Ponds monthly Food Truck Friday hosts The Watts Family Band as entertainers with Squeals on Wheels, Bearded Dog, Bac N Me Crazy, Mac Daddy, Holy City Waffles, Booze Pops, and Pelican SnoBalls food trucks participating. The event takes place on the lawn near the historic Schulz-Lotz Farmhouse at 326 Hundred Oaks Pkwy, Summerville, SC 29483. Gone to the birds
On Sunday, April 28th from 2-4 PM, The Ponds Conservancy invites nature lovers and anyone interested in learning about the birds of the area to a bird walk around the community with Meredith Bean, a Naturalist from Kiawah’s Nature Program. There is no charge to participate and guests are asked to gather at the Schulz-Lotz Farmhouse at 326 Hundred Oaks Pkwy, Summerville, SC 29483
Tacos and yoga
Finally, to conclude the month, on Tuesday, April 30th from 4-7:30 PM, you’re invited to turn out for Taco Tuesday. Smokin Gringos food truck will be at The Ponds selling tacos. To wrap up the evening, you can peace out with a complimentary Yoga Under the Oaks at 6 PM. Come on out and Get your Zen on.
