Mayor Benjamin joins the Brain Injury Association of South Carolina’s Food for Thought Host Committee

The Brain Injury Association of South Carolina (BIASC) announced that Mayor Stephen Benjamin will be joining the 2019 Host Committee for its brand new event, Food for Thought. This new event is the BIASC’s primary fundraising event in the Midlands, which will take place on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the South Carolina State Museum in Columbia, S.C.
“The work of the Brain Injury Association of South Carolina is important and admirable, and I am honored to host them at the first annual Food for Thought reception,” said Mayor Stephen Benjamin, City of Columbia. “Brain injuries can impact anyone at any time. I hope our citizens will consider attending this special event and will join me in my support of this worthy cause.”
The Food for Thought’s Host Committee is made up of an avid group of leaders who represent various industries. Other members include: Larry Lucas with State Farm Insurance, and Dr. Thomas Seastrunk, a traumatic brain injury survivor.
