Bring your appetite as guests share recipes in Richland Library’s Teaching Kitchen
April 25, 2019Temperatures are beginning to heat up outside, and activity is heating up inside Richland Library’s Teaching Kitchen as well. Staff are welcoming two special guests to our Northeast location (7490 Parklane Road) during the month of May.
Please join us for the following programs, which are free and open to the public:
Healthy and Easy Mediterranean with Patricia Moore-Pastides is taking place 6 – 7:30 p.m., Monday, May 6. Patricia Moore-Pastides, First Lady at the University of South Carolina, plans to discuss the heart-healthy benefits of a Mediterranean diet while demonstrating a few quick and easy recipes from her Greek Revival and Greek Revival from the Garden cookbooks.
Soup Night: An Old-Fashioned Idea that Can Change the World is scheduled for 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 8. Enjoy a delicious soup while hearing from Maggie Stuckey, Soup Night author and a South Carolina native. She aims to share how the simple meal can bring people together and create community. A book sale and signing are set to follow. Additional details and registration are available here.

Being part of the International Corridor, the Teaching Kitchen offers an environment where customers can learn about different cooking techniques, regional and international cuisine, and nutrition. It’s one of many features inside the newly-designed Richland Library Northeast. The building was part of a more than $4 million construction project that opened to the public back in October 2018.
