Chris Moore promoted to President of CarolinaPower, leading electrical contractor

May 30, 2019

Chris Moore has been promoted to President of CarolinaPower, a leading employee-owned electrical contractor with offices in Columbia, Greenville, Charleston and North Augusta. The company serves industrial, commercial, healthcare and federal markets in the two-state Carolinas region. Moore has been with the company since its inception 20 years ago. Most recently, Moore served as Vice President and General Manager.

Originally established as a branch of Georgia-based MetroPower, CarolinaPower has exhibited strong and steady growth over the past two decades under Moore’s leadership. Part of the PPC Partners family of companies, CarolinaPower transitioned to a stand-alone business unit in 2018. The company is now well-positioned with four offices in South Carolina and a field force that exceeds 100 crew members. CarolinaPower was named one of South Carolina’s Best Places to Work in 2018.

According to Jim Ditter, CEO of PPC Partners, the decision to make CarolinaPower a separate business unit began two years ago as part the holding company’s client-centric, strategic plan for growing its electrical contracting business in the Southeast.

“Promoting Chris to President is the next step in our long-term plan to grow the business. Chris and his leadership team have done a fantastic job serving their customers. Our new organizational structure is meant to empower them to sharpen their focus on the Carolinas even more,” said Ditter.

A strong advocate for workforce development, Moore is dedicated to working closely with industry associations and public schools to promote construction trades as a viable career option. He serves on industry advisory boards at Greenville Technical College and Clemson University, sits on the board of the Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas (ABC), and is chairman for the South Carolina Upstate Electrical Contractors Apprenticeship program.

Moore is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree. During college, he participated in a co-op program with CarolinaPower’s sister company, MetroPower, Inc., in Atlanta, Ga., where he was hired upon graduation. One year later, Moore moved to South Carolina where he established the first office of CarolinaPower near Greenville, which remains the company’s headquarters today. Moore’s professional credentials include Master Electrical License (South Carolina and North Carolina).
