State Museum presents summer edition of Friday Night Laser Lights

The State Museum is excited to announce the return of its popular Friday Night Laser Lights summer series starting, Friday, June 28. This newly expanded rockin’ summer tradition will now include live music, specialty cocktails and themed nights. Friday Night Laser Lights feature lasers and CGI visuals choreographed to music inside the museum’s 55 ft. digital dome BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Planetarium and full dome musical experiences featuring eye-catching visuals set to music.

Friday, June 28:

7 p.m. – Laser Light Show: Dave Matthews
8 p.m. – Full Dome Musical Experience: Led Zeppelin
9 p.m. – Laser Light Show: Phish
10 p.m. – NEW! Full Dome Musical Experience: Pink Floyd — Dark Side of the Moon

Featuring: Live music from psychedelic rock band, Cletus Baltimore.

Friday, July 26 – Apollo Theme:

7 p.m. – Laser Light Show: The Beatles Abbey Road
8 p.m. – Full Dome Musical Experience: Led Zeppelin
9 p.m. – Laser Light Show: Metallica
10 p.m. – NEW! Full Dome Musical Experience: Pink Floyd — Dark Side of the Moon

Featuring: Columbia Craft’s Alien Hat Beer, a Beatles themed photo booth, access to the Apollo 50: Journey to the Moon exhibit and make-your-own constellation lantern.

Friday, August 23 – Woodstock Theme:

7 p.m. – Laser Light Show: The Eagles
8 p.m. – Full Dome Musical Experience: Led Zeppelin
9 p.m. – Laser Light Show: Aerosmith
10 p.m. – NEW! Full Dome Musical Experience: Pink Floyd — Dark Side of the Moon

Featuring: Make your own flower crown

Each event will feature special laser enhancing glasses for $1, a local food truck and a planetarium bar for guests to purchase beer, wine, a specialty cocktail and non-alcoholic beverages.

Tickets are $10 per show for general public and $8 per show for museum members. ($15 for two shows general public, $12 for members) Please note: Laser shows contain bright, flashing lights that may cause discomfort to those with light sensitivity or other pre-existing conditions.
