Furman Theatre announces 2019-20 season

Furman University Department of Theatre Arts has announced its 2019-2020 season.

A part of the university’s history for nearly a century, Furman Theatre brings to the stage a musical and three plays for the season.

The season opens Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m. with the musical “Pippin.” Tickets for the musical are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $12 for students.

Single ticket prices for each of the three plays are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors, and $10 for students. Single tickets are available for purchase two weeks prior to the show’s opening night.

Season tickets are available for purchase now. Four season tickets are $61 for adults, $51 for seniors, and $29 for students.

All shows take place in The Playhouse, which is celebrating 50 years in operation on the Furman campus. The complete calendar for Furman Theatre follows:

Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment through song favorites like “Magic to Do” and “Corner of the Sky.” Furman’s Maegan McNerney Azar directs the musical.

From the creator of “Pomp & Circumstance” (2013) and “Kappa Kappa Scream” (2017), “Ding Dong Merrily on High” is a must-see world premiere. Furman’s Jay Oney directs.
