After the Obama thaw, is President Trump returning U.S.-Cuban relations to the chilly days of the Cold War? Will Cuba be our friend or foe? The World Affairs Council Upstate (WACU) continues its Distinguished Speaker Series with Ambassador Vicki Huddleston, an expert on U.S. – Cuban relations.
Ambassador Huddleston, retired career Senior Foreign Service officer, spent years navigating the complicated relationship between the U.S. and Cuba as the Deputy Director of Cuban Affairs for the Department of State. Her presentation, Cuba: A Family Feud that became Presidential Politics, is timely and relevant. Ambassador Huddleston is a distinguished U.S. diplomat and expert on both Cuban and African Affairs, and most recently the author of Our Woman in Havana: A Diplomat’s Chronicle of America’s Long Struggle with Castro’s Cuba.
