Charleston Metro Chamber announces 2019 honors winners

The Charleston Metro Chamber’s annual Honors awards celebrate the achievements of local organizations and leaders with an exemplary commitment to the region’s economic development and quality of life. We will gather on November 14 at Riverfront Park for our second annual Honors Reception to celebrate the winners in seven award categories.

2019 Honors Award Winners:
The Trailblazer Award – DocuSystems
The Beacon Award – The Gibbes Museum of Art
The Rockstar Award – Volvo Cars USA
The Pillar Award – Ingevity
The Milestone Award – Stasmayer, Inc
The One To Watch Award – Michael SamuelBB&T
 
The Trailblazer Award, presented to DocuSystems, recognizes an organization that has created a cutting-edge product or service.

The Gibbes Museum of Art is the recipient of the Beacon Award, which is given to a project or structure that elevates aesthetics and improves quality of life for the region.

The Rockstar Award recognizes an organization that has experienced a significant achievement resulting in a positive impact on the region. The 2019 honoree is Volvo Cars USA.

The Pillar Award recognizes an organization known for long-standing excellence and this year, we are recognizing Ingevity.

Stasmayer, Inc. is being recognized as our 2019 Milestone recipient, an award given to a small business that illustrates excellence in entrepreneurship, employee relations, diversity and community contribution.

The One to Watch is presented to an individual with outstanding professional success who is rising through the ranks in the Charleston business arena and demonstrates impeccable leadership qualities. Our 2019 honoree, Michael Samuel, is a Commercial Portfolio Manager for BB&T. He serves on the Charleston Young Professionals Steering Committee.

The highly acclaimed Joseph P. Riley Leadership Award will be announced at a later date. This award celebrates an outstanding community volunteer who is doing extraordinary work to strengthen the community and has demonstrated a lifetime of leadership. Previous winners include Len Hutchinson (2018), Perry Keith Waring (2017), W. Brian Moody (2016) and Thompson E. Penney (2015).
