The Who’s on the Move, BizSC, Non Profit Minute is a quick, two-minute interview in support of the amazing impact that local non profits have on our communities.
We would like to thank our sponsors of this video series:
Sara Fawcett, President & CEO of the United Way of the Midlands
We have all heard about the important link between dental health and overall health. There is an organization that is celebrating its 60th anniversary of providing critical dental care in the Midlands, the Children’s Dental Clinic. The organization is an amazing product of partnerships between public and private entities, city and county governments (both Richland and Lexington)and other local agencies.
WellPartners Children’s Dental Clinic is wholly owned by the United Way of the Midlands. WellPartners Children’s Dental Clinic offers dental and vision health services that provide preventive and restorative care to children and adults in the Midlands.
Last year, WellPartners Children’s Dental Clinic provided dental services for 876 individual children ages 5-18 who are not eligible for Medicaid or any other type of insurance. The dental services provided for children totaled more than $430,000.
Over the 60 years the clinic has been in operation a total of 120 dentists have volunteered their services at WellPartners, and some have even taken critical cases to their own practices to ensure proper treatment.
