Stevens & Wilkinson appoints new president of South Carolina office
November 19, 2019Stevens & Wilkinson, a full-service architecture, engineering and interior design firm with offices in Atlanta and Columbia, S.C., announces the appointment of Robby Aull, AIA, ACHA, LEED AP, principal, as the new president of the firm’s South Carolina office.
As President, Aull is responsible for leading and guiding the direction of the overall office. In his role, he will work with the firm’s Board of Directors to develop short and long-term strategic goals, maintain client relationships, and provide mentoring and career development opportunities for employees and interns. At the same time, Aull will also continue to maintain strong project roles as an architect, planner, and designer.
“It is important we build upon the incredible 100-year legacy of the firm across the Southeast, in particular, South Carolina,” states Aull. “It is also important to understand the impact of what has been done by the firm – the architects, engineers, and interior designers – who have done great and meaningful work through our many years. It’s this work, on notable buildings and public places, that has made our Columbia office so instrumental in the development of our city and state.”
Serving also as the firm’s Director of Healthcare, Aull, who is responsible for project conception and development, has worked on the following high-profile projects: Raymond P.H. Bynoe, M.D. Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU) at Prisma Health Richland, the James E. Clyburn Research Center at MUSC, and two new South Carolina State Veterans’ Nursing Homes, currently under construction in Cherokee and Florence Counties.
“As I think about the future of our firm, I know we will continue to develop forward-thinking ideas that are rooted in the values of our clients and our communities,” continued Aull. “I know we will maintain and increase our relationships and collaborations with industry partners, that we will remain on the cutting edge of research and technology, and that we will, most importantly, focus on creating designs that have a positive impact – designs that are ‘Culturally Significant.’”
A proud graduate of Clemson University, Aull earned both his Bachelor of Science in Design and Master’s in Design and Architecture from the University’s award-winning School of Architecture. Aull is a member of Clemson University’s Architectural Foundation Board of Trustees, where he is currently serving a three-year term, a member of the Academy of Architecture for Health (AIA-AAH), and a member of the American Institute of Architects’ South Carolina Chapter (AIASC).
Aull’s presidency is preceded by Principal T. Ashby Gressette, AIA.
