Spartanburg named #4 Best Place to Work in Manufacturing by SmartAsset

In a study, SmartAsset crunched the numbers to find the best places to work in manufacturing and the Spartanburg metro area ranks in the fourth spot.

From SmartAsset’s findings:  “Spartanburg ranks in the top third for all six metrics we considered out of the 376 total metro areas included in our study. Specifically, 2017 data from the County Business Patterns Survey shows that a whopping 23.7% of the workforce was employed by the manufacturing industry, the 17th-highest percentage of any metro area in our study. Additionally, we estimated that annual housing costs in the metro area are only 15.8% of average incomes for manufacturing workers, the 44th-best rate for affordability in our study.”
