Greenlink offering “food for fare” promotion

February 12, 2020

Greenlink is partnering with United Ministries for a special Valentine’s Day “food for fare” promotion to support United Ministries’ Souper Bowl of Caring food drive. On Friday, February 14, Greenlink will offer free rides in exchange for canned food donations. Fixed route passengers will receive one free ride for every two canned goods donated when boarding the bus. Paratransit customers will receive one free ride for every four canned goods donated when boarding the bus.

According to Public Transportation Director James Keel, the goal of the event is to provide an opportunity for Greenlink customers to give back to the community. “Many United Ministries program participants use Greenlink for day-to-day needs such as going to work, going to school and going to medical appointments,” said Keel. “United Ministries serves our neighbors, friends and family members and we hope this partnership will provide our customers with a sense of belonging while helping to contribute to a good cause.”

Greenlink passengers can plan their trips by visiting www.ridegreenlink.com. Customers are also encouraged to download the FindGreenlink app in the Android or iOS app store to get real-time bus arrival information.
