Senior Resources’ Emergency Senior Nutrition Program schedule for upcoming week

April 12, 2020

In the past three weeks Senior Resources has served over 30,000 meals to Richland County senior citizens through our Emergency Senior Nutrition Program. This week we will continue the service of providing any senior citizen (60+) or caregiver picking up for a senior citizen in Richland County five free meals for the week on a first-come, first-serve basis. Meal distribution will begin tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. Please note that once all meals for that site have been distributed, the distribution site will close for the day. Our Emergency Senior Nutrition Program will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at four drive-thru distribution locations throughout the county, as we continue to serve those most vulnerable in the wake of this crisis.

With our clients being at the forefront of the COVID-19 crisis, we are committed to staying open at Senior Resources and providing local senior citizens the services they need. In addition to our Emergency Senior Nutrition Program, we served over 7,800 frozen meals to our home-bound seniors through the Meals on Wheels delivery program. If you are looking for ways to help our local senior citizens during this crisis, you can contribute a monetary donation to our COVID-19 Disaster Relief Fund located on our website at: https://seniorresourcesinc.salsalabs.org/covid-1…/index.html or you can mail in a donation and mark it for the disaster relief fund.

For the most up-to-date information on our drive-thru Emergency Senior Nutrition Program distribution locations, please continue to refer to our website. Individuals without internet service can call the United Way helpline (2-1-1) for the latest on meal pick-up locations.
