Greenville Technical Charter High School awarded an Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Grant

Greenville Technical Charter High School (GTCHS) has been awarded a $231,573.00 Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Grant to continue to equip students with employable skills and credentials immediately upon graduation. GTCHS is the first school in Greenville County to be awarded an ARC Grant.
The ARC funds will be used to update the school’s infrastructure and technology while continuing to build the Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association (AOPA) STEM curriculum, as well as all of the foundational and extracurricular education classes. These funds will be instrumental as the school breaks ground at the end of this month on the new GTCHS Student Learning Center which will house these programs.
ARC grants and contracts are awarded from funds appropriated to the Commission annually by congress. Program grants are awarded to state, local and governmental entities, local governing boards and nonprofit organizations that directly impact economic development in the Appalachian Region. GTCHS, the first charter school in the state, serves as a blueprint for the middle college system throughout the state.
