Simonne C. Francis, MD and Jenna L. Walters, MD join Midlands Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery, PA

Midlands Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery, PA announced that Drs. Simonne Francis and Jenna Walters joined the practice as of September 2020.
Dr. Francis completed her fellowship in pain medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and graduated medical school from Temple University School of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from Illinois Wesleyan University. Dr. Francis is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Medical Association, Association of Academic Physiatrists, and North American Neuromodulation Society.

Dr. Francis specializes in interventional spine medicine as well as physiatry and is passionate about guiding and educating patients through their rehabilitation program towards recovery. “I want my patients to be able to regain control over their recovery and to be prepared to face any new medical challenges that might arise in the future. I believe this is best accomplished by working with my patients in a team-based approach where…. the patient has the capability to reclaim direction of her or his life…. to allow them to live life to its fullest potential, no matter where they start.”
Dr. Jenna Walters
Dr. Walters joins Midlands after four years at Vanderbilt University where she was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology. She completed her chronic pain fellowship and anesthesiology residency at Vanderbilt University after graduating medical school from the Medical University of South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston. Dr. Walters is board certified in anesthesiology and chronic pain management, and she is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, North American Neuromodulation Society, and the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture.
Dr. Walters became interested in anesthesiology and pain medicine after meeting an anesthesiologist while at the Medical University of South Carolina. “I was struck by how kind and caring they were with their patients during such a difficult time. I knew immediately that I wanted to provide that same comfort and reassurance for my patients one day… Treating my patients with both dignity and compassion while also helping them find the personalized treatment plan that will help them get back to their life is rewarding.”
Dr. Francis is now seeing patients at our downtown and Lexington offices, and Dr. Walters will begin seeing patients September 8 at our downtown office.
